Valencia’nın güneyindeki dağlık bölgenin anayol kıyısındaki Ed Davis Parkı’ndan yola çıkarak, Towsley Kanyonu boyunca bölgenin en yüksek noktasına(Towsley View) ulaşıp, Wiley Kanyonu tarafından başlangıç yerine varan patika yaklaşık 9 km uzunluğunda. Patika ile ilgili notlarda 5.1 mil ve 2.5 saat olarak belirtilmesine karşın, bu halkayı zorlanmadan 2 saatte yürüdüm.
Oğlumuz Can ve Kamer’ın 2.5 aylık ilk bebekleri, ikinci torunumuz Everest’i görmek için geldiğimiz Santa Clarita’daki 10 günden sonra, uzun yıllardır alışkanlık haline getirdiğimiz haftasonu doğa yürüyüşlerine, California Hiking kitabındaki yüzlerce parkurdan Los Angeles bölgesindeki 1 numaralı patika ile başlamak istedik. Üstelik Everest’i de beraberimizde götürmeye karar verdik.
Ancak yürüyüşe başladıktan henüz 10 dakika sonra, hesapta olmayan bir yağmur başlayınca, park yerine geri döndük. Bu yağmurun çiselemeden öteye gitmeyeceğini düşündüğümü ifade ettiğim halde katılan olmadığı için, etkinliği tek başıma yapmak zorunda kaldım.
Bizim bildiğimiz A yürüyüşünden öteye gidemeyecek zorluktaki bu patika buralılarca çok tercih edilen bir yürüyüş seçeneği. Parkur boyunca çocuklu bir çok aile veya tek başına katılan kadın yürüyüşçüler gördüm. Patika motorlu taşıtlara kapalı, fakat bisiklet kullanılabilecek kalitede. Bağlı olmak koşuluyla köpekleri ile yürüyenler de çok fazla.
Ayşen, Can, Kamer ve Everest gittikten sonra tekrar parka girdim ve Towsley Kanyonu’na giden yoldan Winkley Kanyonu’na giden patikaya girdim. Yani Towsley Loop halkasına Winkley’den başladım. Bu vadi Towsley’e göre daha yeşil ve çabucak dikleşerek bölgenin en yüksek noktasına kolayca ulaşıyor.
Towsley View denilen bu noktadan Santa Clara vadisinin tamamını görebilmek mümkün. Ben de burada çektiğim fotoğraflardan panoramik bir manzara hazırladım ve bu minik etkinlikten seçtiğim diğer fotoğraflarla birlikte aşağıdaki albümde sunuyorum.

TOWSLEY VIEW LOOP – Jan.26, 2014
The route, starting from Ed Davis Park located on the edge of the highway of the mountainous region in the southern part of Valencia, continuing along Towsley Canyon, reaching the highest point of the region and arriving the starting point from the side of Wiley Canyon was approximately 9 km. Although it is stated as 5.1 miles and 2.5 hours in the document, I walked this loop in 2 hours without difficulty.
After 10 days in Santa Clarita which we came to see our second grandchild Baby Everest of our younger son Can and Kamer, we wanted to start weekend nature walking which we used to do for long years. I chose the Route No 1 among from hundreds Los Angeles Routes written in the California Hiking Book. We even decided to take Everest with us. But 10 minutes after the start, we got back to the parking lot due to an unexpected rain. I explained my opinion that this rain would not increase, but nobody agreed with me and I had to do it alone.
This route is not harder than our A Group Walk, it is a very preferred option for walking by the locals. Along the route I saw many families with their children and lonely female hikers. The route was forbidden to motor vehicles, but its quality was suitable for cycling. There were too many people walking with their dogs tied up.
After Ayşen, Can, Kamer and Everest gone, I entered the park again and entered the path from the road of Towley Canyon to the road of Winkley Canyon. Namely I started Towsley Loop from Winkley. This valley is greener than Towsley, and it quickly became steep, reached the highest point in the region with ease. This spot is called Towsley View and it is possible to see the entire Santa Clara Valley. I prepared a panoramic landscape with the photos I took from here and I am presenting an album with this photo and the others I chose from those taken in this short activity.
